The Process of our Leather Sculpting
Linda begins by studying real flowers in order to capture intimate botanical details.
Her background as a dressmaker/patternmaker helps her develop her designs.
Each piece, cut from natural-colored English calfskin leather is hand-tooled and
hand-sculpted by hubby, Joe, making it Linda's "three-dimensional canvas." The
sculptures are then hand-painted by Lin, using her 'secret formula' of leather dyes
and/or acrylic and oil paints. A fixative is then applied, insuring that their artwork
keeps its original color and shape, allowing their customers to enjoy their "everlasting
flowers" for many, many years!
All of these award-winning, Michigan artists' designs are hand-sculpted,
each piece is an original---insuring that no two pieces are exactly alike.
Because each hide is of varied age and pigmentation, they cannot guarantee
exact color matches if pin and earring sets are not ordered at the same time.
